APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT
A letter from James Konschnik, Acting Executive Director
August 2006
It has been said that the true test of an organization
is not what they produce or how much money they generate but how
they positively affect the community around them. Together, we have
been through a few rough weeks but WE have persevered, without missing
a beat. Now WE are ready and poised to look ahead. As we look to
the future and celebrate our 11th year of unswerving years of service
the community we serve we NEED YOUR HELP!
WE challenge YOU – our loyal supporters to help us to move THE CENTER
FOR POSITIVE CONNECTIONS (TCPC) to be the best organization possible
for the next 11 years and beyond.
As most of you know TCPC is a nationally recognized not-for-profit
organization leader in the treatment of HIV and in services offerings
that complement traditional medical care. To better serve the community,
TCPC provides HIV prevention and health education, social and emotional
support, mental health counseling, holistic health treatments for
those living with HIV/AIDS in South Florida. The Center is proud
to continue to serve its core population and is pleased to announce
its expansion of service offerings to also include those with other
compromised immune disorders and chronic illnesses.
The Center for Positive Connections (TCPC) first
opened its doors in 1994 by founder, Sheri Kaplan. Since that time,
TCPC has physically grown and the provision of services has increased
over 500%, now servicing all populations in need. As WE enter our
11th Anniversary year, WE plan to take it to the next level and
want you to come along with us.
Not unlike other nonprofit organizations, we have
been significantly affected by the erosion of funds from federal,
state and local grants. Some foundations, that had previously helped
to support our unique services, have been forced to reduce or eliminate
support. It is now more important that ever for the private sector
to come forward and support our services and the surrounding community.
With your commitment and support we will be able to continue providing
and expanding our valuable services to the residents of South Florida
who have compromised immune systems and chronic illnesses.
THE CHALLENGE IS ON! Our new campaign initiative
has two main goals… (1) To increase ongoing support of private donors
and (2) To increase ongoing corporate support, both for our existing
as well as for our expanding programs at The Center for Positive
Connections.
With that thought in mind, we are asking for your
tax-deductible monthly pledge.

mission.
